Despite being extremely cute, across Australia and New Zealand possums are often considered a pest and over populated in many locations.
Our Tasmanian sourced possum fur is a bi-product of possum meat processsing. This is a Government approved pest management program which allows the use of meat and fur which would be otherwise disposed of.
We are animal lovers and strongly object to any sort of animal cruelty. Pest management (particularly when the animal is cute in appearance) can be a touchy subject primarily amongst those who live in urban areas. However in reality, it is essential that our island state’s wildlife population continue to be well balaned in order to guarantee our Island state’s natural future.
